Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Close Circle (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of any modifications.

Close Circle is a personal safety application that provides real-time location sharing, trip monitoring, chaperone-based safety alerts, emergency panic features, and audio recording during active trips. The App is designed to enhance personal safety during travel but is not a substitute for emergency services.

You must create an account to use Close Circle. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, all activity that occurs under your account, and providing accurate and up-to-date information. You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account.

Close Circle requires access to your device’s location services to function. Location data is shared only with your designated chaperones during active trips. Trip data, including routes, is automatically deleted after 90 days to protect your privacy. Audio recordings are deleted sooner — after 14 days, or after 90 days on a Premium account. You consent to the collection and temporary storage of this data when using the App.

The chaperone feature allows you to designate trusted contacts who can monitor your trips in real-time. Both parties must mutually verify the chaperone relationship. You are responsible for only adding trusted individuals as chaperones. Close Circle is not liable for the actions or inactions of your designated chaperones.

You agree not to use Close Circle for any unlawful purpose, to stalk, harass, or monitor anyone without their consent, to interfere with or disrupt the App’s functionality, to misuse the panic or emergency alert features, or to share your account credentials with others. Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination.

Certain features may be available through in-app purchases or subscriptions. All purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms. Subscription pricing and features are subject to change with reasonable notice. Refund requests must be directed to Apple.

Close Circle is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The App is not a replacement for calling emergency services (911 or local equivalent). We strongly recommend contacting emergency services directly in life-threatening situations.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Close Circle and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for personal injury, property damage, or loss of data.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. You may also delete your account at any time through the App’s settings.
